NEC: ECC4 PM Accreditation

I recently completed four days of NEC: ECC4 Project Manager Accreditation training. Now onto the exam questions!

One interesting aspect of the in-person training was, towards the end of the fourth day, when the tutor asked the class the following question: What is the LAST certificate issued on an NEC Contract? As nobody volunteered an answer, he suggested to ask Deepseek. Deepseek got the answer wrong. Oh, said the tutor, perhaps we had better ask ChatGPT. ChatGPT got the answer wrong.

Which leads on to the entire subject of AI and how AI can be deployed to help us on projects and in construction project management. The critical takeaway from this short interaction is not that the two LLMs were incapable of providing the right answer, but that asking the question in a different way would stand a much better chance of success. Techniques such as asking the LLM to spell out its reasoning step-by-step has been shown to improve results, particularly on mathematical calculations.

We are exploring numerous interesting and impactful use cases for deploying AI here at Gowan Projects. Contact us to find out more.

PS: the correct answer is The Final Payment Certificate
