A design that people praise?

A few weeks ago, we heard Thomas Heatherwick speak about humanising design and the built environment as part of BODW+ week in Hong Kong. Heatherwick gets a mention in a Guardian piece today praising the Highgate Newtown Community Centre, but the architects RCKa get a lot of praise for what they have helped deliver.

The most important aspect for us can be found on RCKa's project page where they talk about Stakeholder Engagement with "178 different stakeholder groups". We applaud this.

Stakeholder Engagement not only ensures that the end-users and the wider community enjoy what is built, but as we teach - it can also significantly reduce project risk, both during construction and in operation. Look not only at the stakeholder risks that can impact your project, but how your project can impact the wider stakeholders - the users, the local community, and the planet.
